48 page A5 booklet with many, small, contemporary, black and white illustrations. This brief work covers the horse and the ox on the farm in the late Tudor and the early Stuart period. It examines who owned, what numbers and types of animals. For horses it covers how they were fed, their tack, housing, uses, and healthcare. Other related publications in the same series are Wagons, Carts and Pack Animals 1580-1660, and Cattle Farming and Pasture Management.

There are some minor scuffs and marks to the cover and the staples show signs of corrosion, but  the binding is secure and all internal content is clean and legible.
