Dances for Living History Events 1570-1660 by Robert Huggett. Published by Stuart Press as part of the Living History Reference Books Series 1st edition 1997. © Historical Management Associates Ltd. 1997. ISBN 1 85804 1032 1. 34 page A5 booklet. The booklet is a crash course in the sorts of dances which could be used in a living history event set in England in the period between 1570 and 1660. England has been specifically chosen excluding Scotland, Ireland and Wales because of the lack of original source material for those countries. Descriptions of how to do the dances are included but there are only three small illustrations and no diagrams of foot positions etc. However, as a brief music score is included with the dance instructions, it should be possible with a little practice to achieve something approaching the original appearance of the dance.
