As many of you know, Paul had a stroke last year. He is now home, although still very weak. I feel that we are now in a position to accept orders via the shopping cart, but there may still be some delays.

Description

Arable Farming 1580-1660 Volumes 1 & 2 by Rob Stuart. Published by Stuart Press as part of the English Agriculture 1580-1660 First Series. First Edition 1997 © Historical Management Associates Ltd. 1997.

These booklets deal with arable field crops of the period, and their cultivation. This includes the plants themselves, the preparation of the fields, sowing, weeding, harvesting, storage and farm processing. It does not cover the tools and wagons involved which are covered by other booklets in the series.

The information is derived from a number of authors including Thomas Tusser, Henry Best and Gervase Markham.

Volume 2: 56 page A5 booklet which continues the information from Volume 1, has fewer illustrations and includes a table of the Arable Year and three pages of abbreviations and a bibliography. ISBN 1 85804 110 4
