L’Armee Francaise – An Illustrated History of the French Army 1790 – 1885 was previously published in two volumes under the title L’Armee Francaise – Types et Uniformes, by Boussod, Valadon and Company at Asnieres-sur-Seine, 1885-1889. The original drawings were composed and executed from 1883-1888.
The text of this English version is based on a translation by Maureen Carlson Reinertsen. A glossary of foreign retentions and military ranks has been included.
354 page large format clothbound book with intact dust jacket, measuring 9.25” x 12.25” containing over 300 black and white illustrations and a separate section of 21 colour plates dividing the two volumes.
An illustrated history of the French Army from the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars through to the Crimean and the Franco-Prussian War.
The dust jacket is intact but shows some minor scuffing and marks. The clothbound cover has suffered some discolouration, but the binding is secure and all internal content is clean and legible.
