“The Details of the Rocket System by Colonel Sir William Congreve shewing the various applications of this weapon both for sea and land service and its different uses in the field and in sieges.
Illustrated by plates of the principal equipments, exercises and cases of actual service., with general instructions for its application and a demonstration of the comparative economy of the system. Drawn up by Colonel Congreve for the information of the officers of the Rocket Corps and others whom it may concern.

21 page booklet (27cm x 18.4cm stapled on the short side). The thirteen monochrome plates are particularly good.
From a wargamer’s point of view this monograph describes the only squadron of British lancers that could ever have acted in the Napoleonic Wars as each mounted man carried a lance blade which could be fitted to the rocket staves. On the march the mounted rocketeers would be identified by scouts to be a unit of lancers.
The cover and page edges have suffered some minor scuffing and discolouration. All internal content is clean and legible.
