Unpainted, but undercoated, 54mm plastic model from the Café Storme Roman range of plastic figures that were given away by this Belgian company with 500g packs of their coffee in the 1960s.
Roman stonemason. The bareheaded figure wears a short tunic and sandals. He is kneeling and holds a mallet in his right hand and a chisel in his left hand and is carving an inscription on a block of stone. The figure is approximately 42mm tall.
The base of the figure is marked in French and Dutch: Sculpteur Trevir, 10 III Trevier Steenhouwer. One edge of the base is marked Café Storme Koffee.
The model has been undercoated with matt white paint – otherwise virtually as new.
