52 page large format, plastic spiral bound, paperback atlas (35.4cm x 27cm). The maps are printed in full colour - a map per page, printed one side only. There are three un-numbered pages: Table of Contents, Foreword by the Series Editor and a Table of Map symbols. These pages are bound into the front of the book before the maps.

The first two maps show the countries on the eve of war.

Map 1 is the world in 1914.
Map 2 is Europe in 1914.
Maps 3, 4 and 24 show the war plans.
Maps 5-10 show the battles of the Frontiers and the Marne 1914.
Map 11 shows the Western Front 1915-16.
Map 12 shows the Battle of Verdun 1916.
Map 13 shows the Battle of the Somme 1916.
Maps 14, 15 and 20 show Operations in Italy 1915-1918.
Maps 16 and 17 show the Western Front 1917.
Maps 18 and 19 show German Offensives in the West 1918.
Maps 21-23 show Allied Offensives in the West 1918.
Maps 25 to 27 show the Tannenberg Campaign 1914.
Maps 28-31 show the Eastern Front 1914-1915.
Maps 32, 33 and 36-39 show Operations in the Balkans 1914-1916.
Maps 34-35 and 40-41 show the Eastern Front 1916-1917.
Maps 42-50 show Operations in Peripheral Areas (Middle East) 1914-1917.
Maps 51, 52 show political realignments 1919

The cover has suffered some minor scuffing and handling damage. All internal content is clean and unmarked.
