Napoleonic Principles of War– Wargames rules for conflicts between 1792 and 1815 written and published by Tom Penn copyright 1997 T. M. Penn. A comprehensive set of rules and lists for Napoleonic tabletop wargames with miniatures. This early edition of the Napoleonic Principles of War has now been superseded by a second (revised) edition but I suspect some may still prefer the first edition.
Some of the systems used in POW originally appeared in the “Warring Empires” wargame rules published by Chris Pringle in 1992. The innovations in these rules have been refined and improved and Chris Pringle fully endorses the ongoing development of the rules system.
A4 paperback manual with separate A4 card playsheet. 35 pages of rules diagrams and tables followed by 37 historical army lists in alphabetical order. A terrain table is printed on the outside of the back cover.
The rules are designed for whole units with no casualty removal so any scale of figures may be used. For larger actions 6mm and 15mm figures are best but 25mm could be used if the player wishes. The following assortment of dice are needed: D4, D6, D10, D20 and Average dice.
New and unused.
