L’Armee Francaise – An Illustrated History of the French Army 1790 – 1885 was previously published in two volumes under the title L’Armee Francaise – Types et Uniformes, by Boussod, Valadon and Company at Asnieres-sur-Seine, 1885-1889. The original drawings were composed and executed from 1883-1888.
The text of this English version is based on a translation by Maureen Carlson Reinertsen. A glossary of foreign retentions and military ranks has been included.
354 page large format clothbound book with dust jacket, measuring 9.25” x 12.25” containing over 300 black and white illustrations and a separate section of 21 colour plates dividing the two volumes.
