Duel: The Italian School - 16th Century Long Rapier & Parry Weapon Combat. An expansion for the Duel System. Written and published by C. H. Thomas 1998.
This set was sold as a supplement to the earlier game, but it contains far more card sets and the additional rules allow man to man combat to be played with rapier and a variety of parrying weapons. There may be a few rules in the original Duel game that are not included here, but I feel that this set has more than enough information to allow the game to be played. As the name implies the game system is designed for two players playing man to man. No figures are required but they could be used to make the game more interesting and entertaining.
The pack contains:
- 24 page A5 booklet containing rules and historical notes.
- 12 A4 sheets of printed cards. Each sheet contains 16 cards to be cut out and used in the game. This gives two 48 card packs for the long rapier, one for each player. Each player can fight using this weapon alone or can use the long rapier in conjunction with one of the following parrying packs: 32 card pack for the parrying dagger, 32 card cloak pack or 32 card lantern pack.
All the components are supplied in a ziplock plastic bag.
New and unused.
